Supplemental Hydrogen
From Water
_________________________________________________________
Lets start by saying that the Internal Combustion Engine [I C E]
In all of our cars Is at best, only 10 to 20 percent efficient, If we use the figure of 15
percent, then we are losing the other 85 %of the energy in wasted heat and emissions.
If we add another fuel or Catalyst to the process that causes a faster
burning mixture,
We will get more energy out of the fuel we are already using.
See the page on how the experts do the math.
Water is a free resource that is composed of Hydrogen and oxygen.
All we need to do is break the bonds of the molecular compound of
water. This can be done by an electrolysis cell made of an arrangement of plates of
stainless steel energized with power from the battery and
the electrical system.
Here are a few facts to consider. 1. Water Is composed of Hydrogen and Oxygen.
2. The speed of combustion of this gas is about three times faster than that of gasoline or diesel.
3. The energy released (per volume) is about 3 times greater.
4. Water liquid to volume of H2 gas is about 1800 to one.
5. Water Needs an electrolyte to be conductive.
6. An electrical field of 2 volts per space is the best for breaking the molecules of water
|
Aside from the basic rules and facts, there are many ways to build
a water electrolyser cell. We use stainless because it doesn't react to the
oxygen by rusting. I have been using five or six spaces of cells to evenly distribute
the voltage of 12 volts across. [actual operating voltage is about 13.8v]
Once you get the cell built and filled with water and catylist, You apply the voltage
across the plates. It is the conductivity and current that does the job.
We have found that voltage above 2 volts per space causes current that generates
wasted heat. The higher the current is, the higher the heat will be and
the higher the production of gas will be. There is a method to control the
overall current by regulating the "on" time as a "duty cycle" by using a
PWM [pulse width Modulator]. The current is still the same but for
shorter periods of time.
The cell is very simple to build. The space dimension is not too critical.
Some people use 1 sixteenth of an inch. Some people use an eighth of an inch.
Some people use a quarter of an inch.
See the page on electrolytes. I use [NAOH] Sodium Hydroxide.
I personally recommend studying all you can find before building your cells.
It may help to get one of the plans, but there is no substitute for the
hands on study.
See the products page links Note: (ICE means Internal Combustion Engine)
Older cars and diesels are the easiest [ I C E ) ones to modify.
Newer cars have computers in them and need special considerations.

The Essentials to Make a system Work Summary
|
1> You need the Electrolizer unit cell of your choice. [basic design]
2> Choose an electrolyte catalyst to use
>> recommended is NA OH Sodium Hydroxide Crystals
3> Build the electrical system controls. for the cell.
>>Recommended use a relay and breaker 30 amp capacity.
>> also recommended is a pulse width modulator.
4> Install the Bubbler
>> A water trap for isolation and to trap electrolyte and stop
explosions from reaching the cell.
5> Install a Flashback Arrestor See my (2nd Pictures Page)
>> An additional barrier to stop explosions from happening.
6> Install the Electronic controls that deal with the computer if needed.
>>This category includes the engine sensors that control the fuel
computer [engine control unit.] see { fuelsaver-mpg.com }
